Ambler

Quaint village turned modern neighborhood.

Welcome to Ambler

Ambler was named the “Best Small Town in Pennsylvania” by Thrillist Travel in 2017, and that spirit still rings true today. The quaint and charming borough is less than one square mile and is approximately 30 minutes from Philadelphia’s city center. Ambler real estate is known for being small but mighty—the walkable, social neighborhood has lots of personality and character thanks to its unique Main Street shops, restaurants, theaters, bars, and events that keep the streets busy and exciting. Quakers purchased the land that is now Ambler from William Penn and created a village community. When The Great Train Wreck of 1856 happened, a local Quaker woman named Mary Johnson Ambler arrived on the site to aid victims and then turned her home into an impromptu hospital for the survivors. The town was named after her and kept her caring and friendly spirit alive. Today, Ambler is a tight-knit neighborhood and has many brilliant organizations, community facilities, art centers, and charming Ambler properties, making it a lovely place to call home.
